Engagement Handbook

A guide for managers and leaders to drive engagement

Engagement starts with you. Managers and leaders play the most important role in fostering an engaging environment – with the most frequent and direct contact with associates, the engagement behaviors you model make the strongest impression[1]. In your position, you also have the opportunity to act as a conduit for communicating Montefiore’s mission, values, and strategic priorities, helping your team see how their work fits into the broader organizational goals.

This handbook is intended for Montefiore's managers and leaders – those with managerial and/or supervisory responsibilities. It is designed to be an easy-to-use, living guide, to be referenced often and updated over time to meet the changing needs of Montefiore associates and the dynamic environment in which they work. It complements and can be used alongside other engagement action planning guides you may have received. Through recommended practices and behaviors, this resource supports your ongoing efforts to foster and sustain an environment and culture where associates feel engaged with their work and dedicated to the mission of Montefiore.

Use this handbook to build engagement in your team!
